Eyeliner SPMU is a tattoo procedure, unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, it is less invasive and is considered semi-permanent.
It enhances and defines your eyes, helping to give the illusion of bigger, brighter eyes.
How long does it last?
As the pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade overtime. It can last unto 6 years, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). Skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: patients who tan, or use products with AHA or Glycolic Acid with fade faster as the skin will resurface faster.
If you are a frequent smoker, "sun worshipper" or have an irregular thyroid, liver, stomach, hormonal imbalance, unbalanced diet and stress these also effect the pigment durability. meaning you may have poor retention and poor lasting results.
How long is the healing process?
It takes up to 2 weeks for any scabbing to disappear, but around 4-6 weeks to see the true colour
Is the top up necessary?
Yes, without the top up, skin regeneration may cause you may loose pigment when healing, causing the liner to look uneven or patchy and without the top up it may not last.
Can I get my touch up session sooner than 4 weeks?
Touch up sessions should not be done earlier than 4 weeks after initial session as pigment colour has not fully settled into the skin. Most importantly, this is to prevent scar damage as the tissue requires time to completely heal.
Is it painful?
The pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none, depending on the client. Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure and it is recommended you don’t have it done on day 1 or 2 of your cycle. If you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity tolerance to the procedure.
After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn. Clients can take paracetamol but not aspirin or ibuprofen.
