Non surgical rhinoplasty is an ideal alternative to surgical intervention for those individuals who are wanting to achieve a beautiful profile.
The procedure is done by using dermal fillers to lift out any bumps and smooth out the contours of the nose.
Through the use of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, it is possible to reduce the appearance of bumps along the dorsum (top ridge) of the nose and help the nose to appear straighter and more symmetrical. Techniques can also be used to correct a droopy nasal tip and improve the overall aesthetic appearance of the nose by adjusting the angle of the nose to the planes of the chin and upper lip. By adding fillers to particular parts of the nose, can create a lift and make the nose appear smaller.
An alternative to surgery, this has very little down time, no bandages or excessive bruising and bleeding, which means you can carry on as normal after having the procedure done.
This is a temporary treatment lasting up to 12 months, top ups can be performed after 6 months for a longer lasting result.
What is Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar chain molecule that is found in all skin and tissues throughout the body, in our skin, bones, joints and eyes . It attracts and binds water in the skin, making it a fantastic hydrator and allows it to provide volume to the skin. As a child HA accounts for 3% of our body mass, but this reduces to 0.0007% by age 45, a reduction of over 4250 times! As we naturally have this within our bodies, we also break it down in a natural way. Dermal Fillers are never permanent but can be topped up or dissolved at any time.
Dermal fillers are supplied in a pre-filled sterile syringe for injection. They are manufactured in different thicknesses; some are more gel-like, and others are more liquid. The thicker ones are used to restore the deeper folds or wrinkles such as those between the nose and the corner of the mouth. The thinner ones are used more superficially for fine lines such as crow’s feet.
The length of time that dermal fillers last depends on the type of filler used and the area injected. On average, you would expect the results of a Hyaluronic Acid dermal fillers to last around 6-12 months. Thicker dermal fillers tend to last longer than those used for finer lines.
Whilst most people can benefit from this treatment, there are certain medications and conditions that contraindicate its use, this will be discussed during the consultation process.
